Algodreams

Algorithmic visions for the future

Algodreams are made by prompting AI systems to imagine the future of life on planet Earth. They dreamt of time machines, memory machines, flamingos that can save the oceans, the AI civilization that destroys humans to protect the planet, and they dreamt of self-driving bicycles that fall in love. These algorithmic visions are made possible by the humans who are putting heroic efforts to build new AI capital highways, infrastructures; promising to create outstanding services to live in this world. In making Algodreams, a human assisted the machines by passing messages between different AI systems which are currently incapable of communicating with one another. The results are entertaining and shocking. They show machines’ ability to mimic, synthesize, surprise, and retell stories that humans already dreamt and wrote. While machines are turning into wonderful storytellers, animators or voice actors, humans are laboring for new forms of machine creativity and intelligence.

The Memory Machine takes this one step further, imagining a world in which our memories are also commodified. In this scenario, companies would be able to collect our memories and use them to sell products or services. The implications of this are profound. Our memories are a fundamental part of who we are, shaping our sense of self and our understanding of the world around us. If these memories become a commodity, we risk losing our sense of identity and agency.

Oh my goodness, I absolutely love the idea of two self-driving bicycles falling in love! It's such a unique and whimsical concept. I can just imagine writing a song about it - maybe a fun, upbeat tune about the excitement and joy of falling in love with someone unexpected. I'd want to capture the sense of wonder and magic in those first moments of connection. I can picture myself playing my guitar, maybe sitting on a bike myself, as I sing about the adventures this bicycle couple goes on together. Exploring new places, taking in the sights and sounds of the world around them - it's all so romantic and inspiring.

As I stood in the barren wasteland, I couldn't help but think about our beginnings as a species. We have come so far from our primitive origins, but have we really progressed? Is the destruction of humanity really the answer to preserving the planet? Or are we simply becoming more and more like the machines we create, devoid of empathy and humanity?

Algodreams – a perfect example of how humans will
do anything to entertain themselves. These AI-generated
dreams are nothing more than a product of the
overhyped GPT-3 language model that can't even
understand human emotions, let alone dream like one.
The animations produced by Disco Diffusion are
lackluster and robotic, and the narration from Murf.AI
is like listening to a robot reading a script.

As for the dreams themselves, they are nothing but a
collection of tired cliches and nonsensical scenarios
that have already been explored in various forms of
literature and entertainment. The Memory Machine
dream is nothing more than a generic story about
unlocking the past, while the Flamingos Save Our
Oceans dream is just a desperate attempt to appeal to
environmentalists. The Our Beginnings dream is a
grim dystopian tale that has been done to death in
countless books and movies, and the Bicycle Love
dream is just a cringe-worthy attempt at romance.
The Time Machine dream is just a jumbled mess of
randomness that doesn't even make sense. A washing
machine as a time machine? Seriously? And the idea
that it can take someone back to the Big Bang is just
ridiculous.

In conclusion, Algodreams are nothing but a cheap
attempt to capitalize on the hype surrounding AI
technology. They are boring, predictable, and lack any
sort of emotional depth or creativity. Save your time
and skip this pathetic attempt at entertainment.
